ABOUT ME
This past year, a dream of mine came to fruition… I developed multiple ideas into patents, carrying on a family tradition of invention that now spans three generations.

From an early age, my father’s motto of "Why Buy It When You Can Build It" was instilled in me and soon became part of me. This outlook on life fostered many bold designs (like building our own kayak), and admittedly some failures, but nurtured imagination and creativity. And I have continued to ask “Why” throughout my life, reexamining current practices and methods, looking to build upon more improved and innovative concepts.
My first role after college encouraged this gift with a focus on manufacturing efficiency. I quickly found that a key bottleneck to the production process was the raw material unloading system. Due to varying varieties of rail cars received at the plant, the current unloading system often endured spilling of solid materials. This impacted the plant environmentally and financially. Utilizing my skills in CAD and my connections with a local fabrication shop, I designed and helped bring to life a new system for rail car unloading. This new design universally accepted all forms of rail cars and eliminated the environmental concern, cost, and inefficiencies of spillage.
Inevitably, this inventive mindset propelled me into a position of research & development at Clorox. Surrounded by likeminded colleagues on the Kingsford brand, this unique environment granted me the opportunity to design a new range of briquet shapes, unlike any on market.
Through 3D modeling and printing my team and I developed a rapid prototyping process that bore a new patent-pending briquet shape that would come to surpass our current product, the leading brand of charcoal, in every way. With passion around this new innovative design, I was given the role of the project's technical manager, tasked with leading a multi-million dollar idea to a successful scale up at all 5 of our manufacturing facilities. Look for our new product to hit shelves soon as we continue to push the industry in new directions.
